Kojima Productions head Hideo Kojima was denied travel to the Game Awards by Konami lawyers according to Geoff Keighley.
Keighley announced the news as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain had won Best Action/Adventure game. Kiefer Sutherland, voice of Big Boss, had to accept the award in Kojima’s place.
Keighley also noted that Kojima is at home watching. Stefanie Joosten performed “Quiet’s Theme,” and Keighley said “this is for you Hideo. She came all the way from Japan.”
