It’s been over 30 years since the release of the Colecovision, but Coleco is re-entering the market with a brand new console. Coleco has partnered with Retro Video Game Systems, Inc. to announce the COLECO Chameleon. Perhaps even more surprising than a new console from Coleco is the fact that the COLECO Chameleon will play “brand new games on long-lasting, durable catridges that can be played, traded, and collected for a lifetime.”

The games are expected to be in the 8-, 16- and 32- bit styles, much like many popular indie games like Shovel Knight and Undertale.

The COLECO Chameleon will be on display and demonstracted during the Toy Fair New York 2016 this February. It is expected to launch in early 2016.
