Square Enix has released the ninth installment of their Final Fantasy series for iOS and Android devices. Today’s Final Fantasy IX‘s mobile release was a surprise move by Square Enix. The game is $17, but will be 20% off until February 22nd. Apple devices must run iOS 7 or later, with an extra 2.01GB of space for Final Fantasy IX. On Android devices, the game will take up 4GB of memory.

As for the PC release of Final Fantasy IX, a date has not been confirmed other than “early 2016”, but perhaps Square Enix will pull another stealth release earlier than we expect.
