This morning Nintendo had a special six minute “Pokémon Direct”. The video was a celebration of twenty years since Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green were released in Japan.

The direct featured a montage of all of the Pokémon games in the last two decades, as well as gamers of all ages enjoying them on their various Nintendo handheld devices.

After yesterday’s trademark for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, it was no surprise when Nintendo officially announced the pair of games, releasing globally this holiday season.

No actual gameplay or teaser footage was shown, just the two title images that were leaked yesterday.

Nintendo also announced that Pokémon caught in the Game Boy digital rerelease a of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow can all be uploaded the Pokémon cloud service Pokémon Bank.
