Game Informer’s April issue features a 14 page cover story of Gears of War 4. The article has exclusive reveals of the game’s story, characters and gameplay. Epic Games developed the first 3 installments of the Gears of War franchise before Microsoft gained the full rights to the series. A new developer, The Coalition, is bringing in a new generation of Gears of War games with a new generation of Fenix.
JD Fenix leads the new team of COG soldiers and yes, he is the son of Marcus Fenix from the original trilogy. JD is played by Liam McIntyre and is described in the article as “an idealist who ran away from home at a young age to join the the COG militia only to go AWOL after a classified incident”. JD will be accompanied by survivalist Kait Diaz, played by Laura Bailey, and fellow soldier Delmont “Del” Walker, played by Eugene Byrd.
Game Informer also confirmed that the series will return with the favorite “couch co-op” campaign mode that players have come to expect from the series.
