After two delays it appears Persona 5 may release this summer after all. The game’s official website was updated today with the phrase “Take Your Heart” and a countdown timer that ends on May 5th, likely revealing the release date and perhaps a new trailer.
Persona 5 was originally announced in 2013 and scheduled for a winter 2014 release on the PlayStation 3. At Sony’s Computer Entertainment Japan Asia’s press conference in 2014, it was announced that Persona 5 would now launch in 2015 for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The last delay was announced at last year’s Tokyo Game Show, where Persona 5 was scheduled for a summer 2016 release.
Persona 5 once again centers on a high school student who moves to a new town. The Persona series mixes dungeon crawling rpg gameplay with a high school social simulator that has players building friendships, working jobs and joining social clubs.
