It’s been over seven years since the last Dawn of War game was released, but today Relic Entertainment announced Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 is coming to PC in 2017. An announcement trailer was also posted thata depicts the Space Marines, Eldar and Orks caught in intense and deadly warfare.

Dawn of War 3‘s Executive Producer Stephen McDonald said “This is the Dawn of War that fans have been waiting for.” McDonald continued by noting some features that fans should be excited for, “Our biggest units ever? Check. Giant orbital lasers? Check. Base-building, epic heroes, huge battles, it’s all in there. Get ready for the biggest Dawn of War yet. For the Emperor!”

Justin Dowdeswell, the General Manager at Relic Entertainment has high expectations from his team to deliver a real-time-strategy game that players will enjoy, saying, “This announcement is a big moment for all of us at Relic, and at SEGA.” This is the first Dawn of War game since Relic Entertainment was sold to Sega after THQ’s bankrupcy filings. Dowdeswell added, “We’re setting the bar for what we can achieve, and showing players what they can expect from us in the future. This is just the beginning.”

No release date or window was given regarding Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 other than 2017.
