A live-action Pokémon film is something Hollywood has been tinkering around with for quite a long time. After the global phenomenon of Pokémon GO, studios scrambled to get the rights to make a live-action movie based on the pocket monsters. According to reports from Variety, Legendary Entertainment has won the rights to produce the film. Distribution of the movie outside of Japan will be done by Universal Studios.

Not many details have been given, but we do know that the film will be called “Detective Pikachu”, similar to the upcoming game Great Detective Pikachu.
