During SEGA’s 25th anniversary party for their beloved blue hedgehog, a new 2D platformer titled Sonic Mania was announced. The game returns Sonic to his glory days on the SEGA Genesis. Sonic Mania has new and re-imagined levels, as well as the ability to play them as Sonic, Tails or Knuckles.

SEGA is calling Sonic Mania “a new classic experience”. Attendees of Sonic’s 25th anniversary party were able to get their hands on the game at the show. Sonic Mania will release in spring of 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
