Breath of the Wild will be the first main Zelda game to receive DLC

Nintendo has announced that their upcoming game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be receiving downloadable content, something that has never been done for a mainline Zelda game. The expansion pass will cost $19.99 and will give players two additional pieces of content, one will release during the summer of 2017 and the second will follow up during the holiday window at the end of the year.

The expansion pass will be available to purchase the same day the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches on March 3 for both Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
